阿聯酋阿布扎比2026年8月5日 /美通社/ -- 阿布扎比文化及旅遊部今日宣佈，委任 Valerie Hillings 博士出任 Guggenheim Abu Dhabi 首任館長。

Guggenheim Abu Dhabi 是薩迪亞特文化區的核心文化機構。該區匯聚多間世界級文化設施，是全球最具規模的文化機構群之一。Guggenheim Abu Dhabi 將聯同 Louvre Abu Dhabi、Zayed National Museum、Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi 及 teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi，共同實踐阿布扎比的文化願景。

Hillings 博士將負責把這項願景付諸實行，帶領博物館制定策略發展方向、統籌開館展覽及活動，並建立一所扎根阿布扎比、連繫世界的文化機構。博物館將連結不同文化、啟發大眾，並展現由 1960 年代至今的藝術創作。

Hillings 博士對 Guggenheim Abu Dhabi 的發展有深入了解。2009 年至 2018 年期間，她曾擔任 Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation 旗下 Guggenheim Abu Dhabi 項目的策展人兼策展事務副總監，與阿布扎比文化及旅遊部緊密合作，參與制定館藏策略、藏品購置及開館前活動，並推進由 Frank Gehry 設計的館舍項目。在此之前，她曾於紐約 Guggenheim 的策展團隊工作 5 年。

自 2018 年起，Hillings 博士出任 North Carolina Museum of Art 館長。任內，她帶領重新構想常設館藏展廳、為館藏增添約 400 件作品，並將博物館年度入場人次倍增至 120 萬。她持有 New York University Institute of Fine Arts 頒授的藝術史及考古學博士和碩士學位，以及 Duke University 藝術史文學士學位，專研現代及當代藝術。

Guggenheim Abu Dhabi 將透過館藏、展覽、委約項目、研究及公眾活動，促進不同文化與世代之間的對話，同時進一步鞏固阿布扎比作為全球藝術創新、創意製作及文化交流中心的地位。Guggenheim Abu Dhabi 館內設有 30 個展廳，室內展覽空間面積達 11,600 平方米，另設 23,000 平方米戶外展覽區。博物館開幕後，將成為全球最重要的現代及當代藝術展示平台之一。
