Hopeland Academic：擇校留意知多點 英國私校排行榜出爐
全面認識英國校園課程與活動 提供子女最合適升學之選
香港2019年10月18日 /美通社/ -- 近期英鎊仍處於低位，英國政府又宣佈恢復兩年「畢業生工作簽證」政策，專營英國升學的Hopeland Academic 教育中心表示詢問有關英國留學的家長人數比起上年同期增近1倍，可見很多家長都希望子女赴英留學。家長務求為子女尋找最好的教育，往往關注學校公開試成績的資訊，最近，英國極具影響力的報紙媒體毎日電訊報（The Telegraph）發佈了2019年度最佳A-Levels學院排行榜，其排名方式是將英國私校學生在A-Levels考試中取得A 至A* 的比例做了綜合排名。雖然學校排名高低能夠反映學校的師資質素，但是家長在考慮之時也應參考院校提供的課程、活動、環境、校舍等，以達至健康均衡的寄宿學習生活。

英國不少院校都提供與香港學校不同的課程及活動。課程方面，部分學校會舉辦牛津劍橋預備課程（Oxbridge Preparation Programme）和醫學院預備課程（Medical School Preparation），讓有意入讀的學生贏在起跑綫。運動方面，很多院校會提供香港少見的訓練，例如馬術、欖球、帆船運動、三項鐵人等，供學生參與及嘗試。藝術方面，某些學校提供與別不同音樂課程例如豎琴，更會提供少見的戲劇獎學金予出息的學生作鼓勵，讓學生摸索不同方面的天賦。Hopeland Academic 教育中心總監姚大衞，人稱大衞叔叔建議：「家長除了考慮成績排名外，也要了解校舍的設施或課程，從中探索學園活動的多樣性，並選擇適合子女的院校。」
大衞叔叔亦建議家長需要細心研究心儀學院的教學課程和校園生活，避免恨錯難返：「曾有家長替子女報讀名列前茅的學校，不但價錢不菲，學校更只提供課室及宿舍，課餘活動設施一切欠奉，與想像的英式寄宿學校大有分別，後來發現原來自己選了一些補習形式的學校，於是找我尋求協助。事實上，排行榜未能反映學校綜合實力。有些學校，雖然排名並非出衆，但推崇多元發展，鼓勵學生探索潛能，促使學生全面成長。在評核學校能否提供理想教育時，家長必須考慮周全。」
Hopeland Academic以孩子優先，配合家長出發點的同時著重於了解孩子需要，信譽良好，在英國更設有辦事處，可與孩子緊密聯繫，了解孩子在海外的情況，從而迅速提供支援和協助。作為過來人，大衞叔叔明白送子女出國的家長少不免會擔心子女的安危。現透過Hopeland Academic安排英國升學，將獲安排首次抵英專車接機，並點對點從機場接送到校舍，確保孩子的安全，使家長放心。
