巴西煙草公共衞生費用追償訴訟迎來關鍵里程碑，法院即將裁決

華盛頓2026年7月31日 /美通社/ -- 巴西聯邦總檢察署（Advocacia-Geral da União，下稱 AGU）於 2019 年提起的一宗具有里程碑意義的訴訟，旨在追究該國最大煙草製造商對吸煙造成的龐大公共衞生費用的經濟責任，案件現已邁入關鍵里程碑。目前，所有法律陳述已全部提交完畢，聯邦公共檢察署亦已就此案提交意見書，支持 AGU 的索償主張。案件現等候阿雷格里港聯邦法院就煙草公司是否須為其在巴西銷售及推廣香煙所造成的損害承擔法律責任作出裁決。

是次訴訟要求巴西最大煙草製造商就巴西公共醫療系統在治療與煙草使用有科學關聯的疾病方面所承擔的醫療費用作出賠償。被告包括 BAT Brasil（前身為 Souza Cruz）及 Philip Morris Brasil，以及其母公司 British American Tobacco 和 Philip Morris International。
