專精基因定序的全球領先公司 Illumina 於 3 月 14 日宣布，其首款基於 Illumina 長讀取定序技術（Complete Long Read）的產品正式上市。

聖地亞哥市2023年3月15日 /美通社/ -- Illumina Complete Long Read Prep, Human 是一項高性能、長讀取、人類全基因組定序 (WGS) 工具，可以與 Illumina 旗下 NovaSeq X Plus、 NovaSeq X 和 NovaSeq 6000 多種定序設備相容。這也是 Illumina 第一個可以在同台設備進行長、短基因序列讀取的產品，有效簡化工作流程與加速實驗進行。

解碼最具挑戰性的基因區域

在基因定序的應用上，提升長讀取定序技術有助加速建立特定片段的基因圖譜，並可以得知某些特別難探入的基因片段。在這樣前提下，Illumina 的長讀取基因技術可以幫助科學界大規模分析基因變異資訊，產出的基因數據能用作遺傳疾病檢測工具，促進遺傳病研究與藥物基因體學領域發展。

Illumina Complete Long Read Prep 將 Illumina 合成式定序（sequencing by synthesis）技術搭配 DRAGEN 資料分析平台，提供精準的 WGS 結果。

早期數據顯示定序高度精準性與靈敏性

在 2022 年 9 月的 Illumina 基因組學論壇（Illumina Genomics Forum, IGF）中，Aravanis 技術長便展示了 Illumina Complete Long Read 產出的初步數據，顯示搭配 DRAGEN 分析結果高達 99.87% 精準度。此外 2 月的基因組生物學和技術進展（Advances in Genome Biology and Technology, AGBT）大會中，也有使用者公司分享 Illumina Complete Long Read 的高精準度數據，以及彈性的 DNA 總量輸入特性，有助降低實驗成本與操作複雜度。

Illumina 計劃將運用此次發表的產品，更加深在長讀取定序領域的發展。2023 年下半年，Illumina 也預計推出一項基因富集檢測產品（enrichment assay），其價格更親民、定序通量更高，可以藉由長讀取技術獲取更多額外的有用基因數據。未來 Illumina 將持續開拓 WGS 與針對非人類基因樣本以外的產品技術。
