該工作室於2020年7月20日在東京Seiko Holdings Corporation的零售商店和光(Wako)大樓以及日本東北部巖手縣雫石的工作室同時舉行的開幕儀式上宣佈開業。在東京，Seiko Watch Corporation董事長兼首席執行官服部真二(Shinji Hattori)與工作室的著名建築師隈研吾(Kengo Kuma)一同參加了活動，而在雫石，巖手縣知事達增拓也(Takuya Tasso)與工作室的董事們一起參加了活動。

該工作室還設有一個展覽空間，遊客可以沉浸在冠藍獅(Grand Seiko)的歷史中，探索冠藍獅(Grand Seiko)機械表的製造特徵。這裡會舉行一些活動，遊客可以在專用的工作室研討會室中嘗試組裝機械表。

二樓的休息室設有展覽，講解冠藍獅(Grand Seiko)的世界，還將展示該品牌的首個「概念作品」。

此外，還將展示專門為工作室製作的冠藍獅(Grand Seiko)手錶，並可以購買。它是一款限量版高振頻36000。
