紐約2021年5月28日 /美通社/ -- 作為鋼鐵行業的幾個頂級貸方，花旗集團、高盛集團、荷蘭國際集團、法國興業銀行、渣打銀行和 UniCredit 透過集體氣候融資協議，共同為鋼鐵業定義脫碳的共同標準。各家銀行已組成 Steel Climate-Aligned Finance Working Group（鋼鐵業氣候一致融資工作小組），由 RMI 的Center for Climate-Aligned Finance（氣候一致融資中心）推動，旨在於 2021 年 11 月的聯合國氣候變化大會 (COP26) 前制定一項支持業界的協議。協議將營造一個公平的競爭環境，以衡量鋼鐵行業的氣候目標進展狀況，以及一個支援鋼鐵業脫碳的平台。

低碳技術在很多產業中存在。然而，鋼鐵行業的碳排放佔全球能源排放量約 7%，並且非常依賴煤炭，因此在商業上可行的替代方案仍處於早期階段。業內旳碳強勁發展提高市場對及來自金融機構支援脫碳的期望。

工作小組由荷蘭國際集團領導及由法國興業銀行共同領導，成員是來自各銀行金屬及採礦團隊的高級代表。工作小組將與現有計劃合作，共同制定與氣候一致的集體融資協議範圍、排放途徑、方法和治理結構。

協議將以第一項針對特定行業與氣候相關的的海上航運融資協議波塞冬原則 (Poseidon Principles) 作為基礎。這些原則是透過主要的航運貸方、工業公司和專家之間的多方利益相關者合作制定，為其他行業建立類似框架奠定基礎。

這項工作是可行使命夥伴關係 (MPP) 的一部分，而該聯盟由領先的非牟利組織和 400 多家企業組成，致力加速鋼鐵業等七個行業的工業脫碳。在 MPP 內，這個工作小組是淨零鋼計劃 (Net-Zero Steel Initiative, NZSI) 的一部分，由全球部分最大的鋼鐵生產商和供應商組成。RMI 氣候一致融資中心將促進工作小組與 NZSI 之間的互動，以確保鋼鐵製造商和貸方的目標保持一致。
